HCC is a church of people who are experiencing that the best way to live life is with Jesus, in community and on mission.

We are courageous followers of Jesus who love God, love people, love serving those around us. It’s what we do, and we love doing it.

But we know you’ve got questions, so we’ve listed the most frequently asked ones below…along with the answers. If you have any other questions, feel free to stop by our Welcome Center or e-mail the [email protected] before you come.

What To Expect

Coming to HCC for the first time?

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go?
We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us or ask at the Welcome Center when you visit.

When are services?

Worship Assembly – 9:15-10:30
Fellowship & Coffee – 8:45-9:15
Bible Classes – 10:45-11:30
Evening Chapel Service – 6:00 PM
Small Group Meetings in Homes
Bible Classes All Ages: 6:30 PM

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. You will see alot of people in jeans. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

How do I get to HCC?

HCC is located on the North-West corner of the intersection of Lebanon Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard. We have a direct entrance at 4004 Lebanon Pike, but most people will use Bonnaspring Drive and enter at our upper parking lot.
From I-40: Take exit 221 onto Old Hickory Boulevard toward The Hermitage. After two miles, turn left onto Lebanon Pike. Our building sits up on the hill and is hard to miss.

Where should I park?

We have an upper and lower(overflow) parking lot. Most people will park in the upper parking lot which is parallel to Bonnaspring Drive. All our entrances are lettered and by entering door B, you will pass by the Welcome Center and they can direct you where to go and answer any questions. We also have handicapped parking which is accessed by driving to the right side of the building by door B.

Where do my children go?

HCC proved a nursery for infants up to 3 years during services. The nursery is located behind our main auditorium.
Sonrise Crossing is the perfect place for your children 5 years through fifth grade to go while you attend service. You can check your children in before service starts at Sonrise Cove in the foyer at the back of our auditorium. Feel free to join your child until they feel comfortable without you.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider HCC your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can set-up an online giving account.

What is a gathering at HCC like?

We strive to have our gathering bring glory to God and also benefit the lives of those who attend. Our time together will include fellowship (just a fancy word for hanging out and sharing what is happening in our lives), singing(our tradition has always included acapella singing, which may seem odd for those used to instruments but they may find it as a unique way to worship God in song), the Lord’s Supper (we celebrate in this meal every week to remember the body and blood that was broken and shed for us), an offering (don’t feel pressured to give if you are visiting), and a sermon (it’s a weekly spiritual peptalk to remind us of who we are and whose we are, giving us instruction and encouragement for our life).
We also offer a variety of classes after our Sunday morning gathering. A list of classes can be found at the Welcome Center.

I have hearing and/or visual problems. Is there any special assistance?

Yes! For those who are hearing impaired, we have special hearing devices that you can wear that will allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, pick one up at the center doors at the back of the auditorium.
